1. Dubai Marathon 2017

The world’s richest Marathon is returning to Dubai for the 13th year with this year’s event expected to see more than 30,000 runners compete for 42.195km full marathon, 10km and 4km run. The prize money of US$250,000 is one of the biggest across the world.

8. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show

Here’s an adorable Puppet Show for Dubai’s young audience!

Adapted from the Eric Carle’s children’s bestseller ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the classic story is now appearing onstage, conveyed through an adorable cast of puppets. The show features four of Eric Carle’s famous stories: The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse, The Very Lonely Firefly and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The very popular musical that has been honored with 2 Grammys and 7 Tony Awards and has enchanted 73 million people in more than 300 cities in the world is making its debut in Dubai at the Dubai Opera.

Adapted from ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ by TS Eliot, the musical tells the story of the Jellicle Cats and the adventures they face while assembling for the Jellicle Ball. Featuring an award-winning musical score, and enchanting set designs, costume and outstanding choreography, the show is set to be a highlight of Dubai’s opera line-up for 2017.

11. Dubai Iron man 70.3

There are few events like the Ironman that really tests a person’s strength and endurance level.

The race consisting of Swimming, Cycling and Running requires extensive practice.

The Dubai Ironman 70.3 will begin at the Burj Al Arab hotel and conclude at the Jumeriah beach. This year’s race is even more attractive as it provides 35 qualifying slots to the Ironman 70.3 World championship.

This would be a day well spent even if you are among the general public attending simply to cheer the athletes.
